Thank you

10th March 2020

Over the past few weeks we have all watched in shock as our beloved Pontypridd, as well as many other areas have been affected by the flooding.

During the the first few days, we all mobilised and were not only supported by some amazing new volunteers from our community, but also through working with our friends at Cardiff foodbank and Taff Eli foodbank, able to distribute almost 3000kg  of food to those most affected.

We had amazing donations from companies, individual members of the community, including one man who travelled from Penarth with 201kg of food, and other charities such as Trac2 Charity who travelled all the way from Pontypool with a van full of donations totalling 438kg for us.

Thank you to the Trac2 Charity, pictured with 2 of our warehouse volunteers, Teifion and Alan.

Over the coming months we will be continuing to support the local community whilst they get back on their feet, though the initial crisis of the flooding has now gone, the massive job of rebuilding lives continues. We are looking to provide some additional support, such as having drop in well being sessions, so it is easier for people to find the help they need, when they need it, and will be continuing to look into creating a permanent community hub based around food.
