Mum of 7 becomes new Foodbank Administrator

16th June 2016

Pontypridd Foodbank has appointed Mandy Hall as a part time administrator.

The role will enable lots of the administration of the Foodbank to become more organised and structured. Communication is an important key to any organisation. The role of administrator will be central in keeping the communication flowing between all those involved in the Foodbank.

Mandy said, “A few years ago, due to circumstances, I was a client of the Foodbank in my native Dorset. After some time volunteering and distributing parcels to those in need, I am now excited to be able to give something back and be in a position that I can support our wonderful volunteers and further help those going through difficult times in their lives.”

Mandy will focus some of her time on looking after the volunteers who are essential to the operations of the Foodbank. Making sure that they receive updates and information on things happening or changing in the Foodbank. Seeking and promoting training for volunteers to help them in their roles.

She will also become the point of contact for the distribution agencies. This will ensure they too have the information they need to be able to refer clients, have a sufficient supply of foodbank vouchers and that their details are kept up to date.

Father Michael, Manager of Pontypridd Foodbank, said “I’m delighted we have been able to employ Mandy. She has made a big difference to the running of the Foodbank from her first day in post. It’s great to have someone to ensure the administration and communication are happening as they should.”

The post was created following the inception of the Parish of Pontypridd in September 2015 as a dual role post, part of the time being spent on Parish administration and part of the time dedicated to the Foodbank administration. Mandy has been a volunteer with Pontypridd Foodbank since last year and still helps at the St Catherine’s distribution centre.
