Volunteer
Our volunteers help us to provide food and practical support to people left without enough money to live on.

Volunteers make a difference in the local community across a range of roles, including boosting donations, packing food parcels, providing a warm welcome, tackling loneliness, signposting to additional services, connecting with partners, raising awareness and leading projects.
Helping at a food bank centre
This is the core of our operations and we would not be able to run without our fabulous volunteers. We need people who can offer a regular time each week / month to help out in the foodbank. We need enthusiastic volunteers who can help process the donations, sort our stock, pack parcels for clients, clean the warehouse and keep the volunteer side running. There is also scope for volunteers to work with our clients, taking their foodbank voucher codes over a cup of tea, discuss their situation and signpost to further support. If you prefer working outside there is plenty of scope for gardening and keeping the site tidy. We have begun to grow vegetables and some flowers but there is a lot more to do!
If you are interested in volunteering send an email to info@pontypridd.foodbank.org.uk!
Collections volunteer
We need help at supermarket collections two or three times a year. Giving out shopping lists to people on the way in to the supermarket, accepting donations from the shoppers, sorting them and putting them into boxes. We need help to move the boxes back to our warehouse. Supermarket collections are a great opportunity to boost our stocks, often collecting over 1,000 kg in a single day, your support could be the vital link to making the collection successful.
